↦ One of the most serious works I have made is a modern ceramic object inspired by coral reefs. I made this work to show the beauty of the ocean and the problems it faces. The unique shapes and textures of coral reefs were recreated in a simple and modern way. This work is not just for decoration but has an important message about saving the ocean.
↦ The object is made of many small ceramic pieces connected together. Each piece is a different size and shape, looking like parts of coral reefs. I used my hands to carefully carve the surface, making it look detailed and real. This helped show the delicate and rich beauty of nature.
For the colors, I used black, red, and white to show the danger the ocean is in. I used a glazing technique to make the surface look like water flowing. Some parts of the object are rough, showing how coral reefs are dying or damaged. This was done on purpose to make people think about the problems in the ocean.
This work is not only beautiful but also makes people think about coral reefs and the ocean’s problems. When I showed this work, many people liked the shapes and colors. They also thought deeply about the message behind it.
This modern ceramic object combines traditional ceramic skills and a message for today’s world. It gave me confidence that I can use art to help the environment. In the future, I want to make more works that share strong messages and connect with people.
제가 가장 진지하게 작업했던 작품 중 하나는 산호초를 모티브로 한 현대적 도자기 오브제입니다. 이 작품은 해양 환경의 아름다움과 위기를 표현하기 위해 제작되었습니다. 산호초의 독특한 형태와 질감을 추상적으로 재해석하여 단순한 장식품이 아닌 환경 문제에 대한 메시지를 담고자 했습니다.
작품은 다양한 크기와 모양의 작은 도자기 구조물들이 서로 연결된 형태로, 산호초의 유기적인 흐름을 표현합니다. 표면은 손으로 조각하여 섬세한 텍스처를 강조했고, 이를 통해 자연의 복잡하면서도 아름다운 모습을 담았습니다.
채색과 유약 처리에서는 검정, 빨강, 흰색과 같은 강렬한 색조를 사용해 바다가 직면한 위기를 시각적으로 표현했습니다. 유약을 흘려 바르는 기법을 활용해 물이 흐르는 듯한 생동감을 더했고, 일부 거친 마감으로 산호초의 퇴색과 손상을 나타내 해양 환경 문제를 암시했습니다.
이 작품은 단순히 미적인 아름다움을 추구하는 것을 넘어, 해양 생태계가 처한 위기에 대해 관객들이 고민하게 만드는 것을 목표로 했습니다. 당시 많은 사람들이 산호초의 독특한 형태와 작품 속 메시지에 매료되었다고 이야기하며 긍정적인 반응을 보였습니다.
이 현대적 도자기 오브제는 전통 도자기 기법과 동시대적 메시지를 결합한 작업으로, 예술을 통해 환경 문제를 다룰 수 있다는 자신감을 준 중요한 작품입니다. 앞으로도 다양한 주제를 예술로 표현하며 더 많은 사람들과 소통하고 싶습니다.
